Description
Abstract of the well-known Dana Point California Hide Drogher statue by Benedict Coleman 1990 on the bluffs overlooking Dana Point Harbor. The Droghers brought hides from nearby cattle ranches (e.g. the San Juan Capistrano Mission), tossed them over the cliff to the sailing ships that then transported them east to Boston and New York. "Dana" of Dana Point refers to Richard Henry Dana who wrote "Two Years Before the Mast" and spent some time in the harbor.
